How to Create Email Templates

Step 1: Access the Template Editor

  1. Create a campaign first, or open an existing campaign
  2. Click "Add Email" or navigate to the template editor
  3. You'll see the email template creation form

Step 2: Configure Template Settings

  1. Enter the "Email Subject" line
  2. Set "Wait Time" and "Wait Unit" for drip campaigns:
    • Wait Time: Number (e.g., 1, 2, 7)
    • Wait Unit: Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, or Months
    • This determines when this email sends in the sequence
  3. Set the "Order field to determine sequence position (0 = first, 1 = second, etc.)

Step 3: Design Your Email Content

  1. Use the WYSIWYG editor toolbar to format your content:
    • Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough
    • Headings (H1, H2, H3)
    • Bullet and numbered lists
    • Text alignment (left, center, right, justify)
    • Text and background colors
    • Links and images
  2. Add personalization variables:
    • {first_name} - Subscriber's first name
    • {last_name} - Subscriber's last name
    • {email} - Subscriber's email address
    • {company} - Company name (if collected)
  3. Example: Hi {first_name}, thanks for joining!

Step 4: Use AI to Generate Content (Optional)

  1. Click the "✨ AI Generate" button in the editor
  2. Fill in the AI generation form:
    • Topic: What is the email about?
    • Tone: Professional, casual, friendly, etc.
    • Length: Short, medium, or long
    • Include call-to-action: Yes or no
  3. Click "Generate" and AI will create the content
  4. Review and edit the generated content as needed
  5. Click "Use This Content" to insert it into the editor

Step 5: Add a Footer (Optional)

  1. Click "Select Footer" button
  2. Choose from your footer library or create a new one
  3. Footers can include:
    • Company information
    • Social media links
    • Unsubscribe link (automatically added)
    • Custom HTML content
  4. Manage footers at Analytics → Email Footers

Step 6: Preview and Save

  1. Click "Preview" to see how your email will look
  2. Review the preview with sample personalization data
  3. Make any final adjustments
  4. Click "Save Template" to save your template
  5. The template is now part of your campaign and ready to use

Editor Features

Rich Text Formatting

Format text with bold, italic, underline, strikethrough. Use headings (H1, H2, H3) for structure. Create bullet points and numbered lists for better readability.

Links and Images

Add clickable links to any text. Insert images by URL or upload. All links are automatically tracked for analytics. Images can be resized and aligned.

Colors and Alignment

Change text and background colors to match your brand. Align content left, center, right, or justify. Maintain consistent styling across all emails.

Variable Insertion

Click the variable buttons to insert merge tags like {first_name}, {last_name}, {email}, and {company}. Variables are replaced with actual subscriber data when emails are sent.

Template Management

View Template Revisions

Access the template revision page to see all versions of your templates, compare changes, and revert to previous versions if needed.

View Drafts

See all your draft templates in one place. Continue editing or delete drafts you no longer need.

Edit Existing Templates

Open any template from your campaign to edit. Changes apply to future sends, not emails already scheduled or sent.

  • Keep subject lines clear and compelling (under 50 characters)
